The online promotion company, Hansel Media is proud to announce the winner of the “Online Media Participation for Change” Award 2015. This distinct recognition goes to University of Buea journalism student, Tchassa Kamga, who has showed great passion and dedication through his online activities. The final decision was arrived on Monday, June 15th after a series of screening from numerous applications.
The award will be handed to Mr. Kamga on the occasion of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Buea, come June 20th 2015. It is worth noting that Hansel Media is the sole online sponsor of the celebration and will be handing this award as a gesture of support to the department and the University.
The Hansel Media Award seeks to recognize and nurture young Cameroonians who, through their online activities continually impact change in their respective societies. Through this venture, the winner will have the possibility of getting online material needed for his/her online media activities and will be assisted with online promotion for his/her community-oriented projects on our online platforms.
Kamga is a final year student from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. His interests include the internet, music and discovering new places. He was the Vice Public Relations Officer for the 2013-2014 academic year in his student association (ASJUB) and also held the position of President from June 2014-April 2015.
Being multidimensional, Kamga has presented and produced radio programmes on the University Radio station- Black Culture (which focuses on the African Culture) and Digital Age (New Media and ICTs). The journalism student currently manages his personal blog (Kamgahasablog) where he delves into personal and public issues.
